Disney+ has announced the renewal of the Korean crime thriller 'Made In Korea' for a second season, with the first season set to debut on December 24, 2023. The series stars Hyun Bin, Jung Woosung, and Woo Dohwan, who will be returning to the platform for the upcoming season. The show's director, Woo Min-ho, reunites with Hyun Bin, who previously starred in his historical film 'Harbin'.
Set in the 1970s, 'Made In Korea' follows the story of Baek Kitae (Hyun Bin), a KCIA agent with a thirst for power. Kitae leads a double life, working as an agent during the day and smuggling goods at night. His cunning and suave nature allow him to rise through the ranks, using his smuggling operation to protect his brother (Woo Dohwan) and generate significant profits for the agency. However, his path to success is blocked by a determined prosecutor, Jang Geon-young (Jung Woosung), who is incorruptible and poses a formidable challenge to Kitae's ambitions.
The series, written by Park Eunkyo and Park Joonseok, is produced by Hive Media Corp. The first season will consist of six episodes, with the first two premiering on December 24, followed by two more on December 31, and the final two episodes releasing on January 7 and 14, 2024, respectively. With its gripping storyline and talented cast, 'Made In Korea' is sure to captivate audiences and leave them eager for the second season.
