Curtis But A Spot Start
Khristian Curtis (https://pitcherlist.com/player/khristian-curtis/) made his MLB debut, pitching 5.0 IP, 0 ER, 2 Hits, 2 BBs, 4 Ks with 8 Whiffs, 28% CSW, 68 pitches. The 24-year-old right-hander has dealt with injuries but showcased strikeout potential.
Curtis' primary fastball sat 95+ mph with 17-18" iVB, 1.1 HAVAA, and 6.8" of extension. He returned 55% strikes, but his misses were far out of the zone.
His signature 92 mph cutter was well-located, and he complements it with a changeup, slider, and curveball. The slowball wasn't commanded well, but it plays off his fastballs.
Curtis has the potential to become a strikeout machine, but his lack of command may prevent consistent peak performance. He's projected as a reliever in the long run.
