A groundbreaking study challenges the conventional wisdom in assisted reproduction! Researchers from Istanbul's IVF centre suggest that the standard monitoring practices during hormone replacement therapy for frozen embryo transfers might be unnecessary for certain patients.

The researchers analyzed data from 294 women under 37 with good reproductive prospects, all undergoing single blastocyst transfers. These women had infertility issues due to unknown causes, polycystic ovary syndrome, mild male-factor infertility, or a combination of these factors.
Here's the intriguing part: the study compared two groups, one with no monitoring and a control group with standard monitoring. Surprisingly, the pregnancy rates were almost the same: 68.4% without monitoring and 69.7% with it. And it doesn't stop there—implantation, ongoing pregnancy, and miscarriage rates were statistically similar too.
This raises a controversial question: could we be over-monitoring some patients? The study suggests that for this specific patient profile, routine monitoring might not significantly improve outcomes. By eliminating these steps, treatment could become simpler, more affordable, and less stressful for patients.
However, the researchers caution that this approach is only applicable to a specific scenario. They emphasize the need for further research to understand if this practice can be safely extended to a broader population.
