R-Truth's Response to Triple H's Contract Clarification (2026)

In a recent preview for the second season of WWE: Unreal released on YouTube, Paul "Triple H" Levesque took the opportunity to clarify some confusion regarding R-Truth’s status with WWE in June 2025. He firmly stated, "He was never fired. Contrary to prior belief, he was never not under contract with us." This declaration sparked interest and debate among fans about the nature of R-Truth's departure from the company.

During an interview with Breakfast Club Power 105.1 FM, R-Truth shared his perspective on the situation. He explained, "I have my agent coordinating with their agent. I prefer to let them manage those discussions. However, I received a call from their end that said, ‘We’re not going to renew your contract,’ or something along those lines."

R-Truth continued to detail the unusual circumstances surrounding his last days with WWE, saying, "It was a Sunday when I had to decide whether to come to work. My contract was set to expire the following Sunday, so I asked, 'Should I show up?' The response was, 'No, don’t come to work.' So, I was left wondering, 'Am I done now?' They confirmed, 'Yes.'

He further expressed his confusion about the entire process, remarking, "There was no flight arrangement or schedule provided. How would you categorize that? I’m not sure if it’s all the same or different; if it’s not, then I guess I’m unintentionally being creative. That’s how it felt to me."

R-Truth reflected on his experience of having an agent for the first time, noting, "My agent was in communication with their team while I stayed out of the discussions. When I received that call, I wasn’t even part of the conversation. Do you see what I mean? This was my first experience with someone else managing my business dealings. Before this, from my early days in Georgia to NWA Wildside, I always handled my own affairs. This time, however, I decided to step back from the dialogue. That’s why it felt like a firing to me. It was a moment for reflection, and honestly, I struggled to process my feelings about it."

This unexpected turn of events raises questions about communication and contract management in the world of professional wrestling. What do you think about R-Truth's experience? Do you believe WWE handled the situation appropriately? Share your thoughts in the comments!
